Who Is Euler?
Leonhard Euler was a prominent Swiss mathematician who lived a colorful life that included periods of exile, relationships with great minds like Pierre-Simon La Place, and numerous awards – including the Order of the Knights of the Golden Fleece.
Born in 1707 in the Swiss municipality of Basel, Euler was an incredibly gifted child who displayed an unusual talent for mathematics from an early age. At the age of 15, he was invited to join the professors at the University of Basel, and the following year, he published the first of many articles that would become the foundation of modern mathematics.
