Aquastar is a European timepiece brand primarily focused on watches for scuba diving and sailing. It was founded in 1962 by Robert, a timepiece designer, scuba diver, and sailor. In 1963, the name of the company Jeanrichard S.A. changed to Aquastar S.A.
Aquastar was founded in 1962 in the city of Geneva in Switzerland by Robert. Robert, took over the trade name JeanRichard out of the hands of his progenitor and quickly changed the name to Aquastar to communicate the intention behind his business: to manufacture professional grade instruments for divers and aquatic activities.
Aquastar was awarded numerous proprietary rights, on the basis of each proprietary right a new Aquastar family member was born. The inner rotating bezel in the model 63, the multiple dive decompression bezel in the Deepstar, the Benthos and the Regate. The new bezel sealing system and the friction ring ring got incorporated in every Aquastar and the regatta counter timepieces.
Aquastar watches were only accessible via professional diving equipment stores and ever offered on a large scope to retail dealers.[citation needed]
In 1974, Robert stepped down and in 1975, Aquastar was bought over by the Eren Group who then passed its ownership to the Seinet Brothers in 1982. Whilstowned by the Eren group, its mainstream dive and sports watches got made offered to the general public through retail stores. Seinet, an enthusiastic yachtsman and 3rd generation watchmaker, desired to procure a watch trade name with its infrastructure and assets and instantly created the prominent wrist watch.[citation needed] Following the realization that traditional mechanical Swiss watches were being inherited and no longer attracted to the younger buyers, Aquastar created and trademarked an affordable timepiece made of synthetic material and housing robust quartz movements which marked a new era of commercial success for the company.
After attaining the necessary commercial success, Mr. Seinet determined to focus on his passion, which is indeed yachting and continued the practice of Robert and established multiple generations of quartz regatta watches between 1983 until 2018.
Since its beginning, the company has launched a host of watch lines. The model 63 was regarded a great commercial success for the firm and it had been for several years the mainstay in Aquastars lineup. It was followed by the creation of the iconic Deepstar and the first nautical timepiece. From that point forward, Aquastar ascended and became a cult company establishing itself as one of the foremost specialized watch making companies. The Deepstar was first chronograph of the company, and potentially the most famous Aquastar model. The Deepstar continues to be highly desired by collectors and it is considered one of the most significant diver chronographs of all time. The Deepstar demonstrated the design ethos of F. Robert since it was elegant and functional at the same time. Below are the major watches of company:
