Laurent Ferrier is a Swiss watch company that has been producing handcrafted timepieces and making use of traditional Swiss watchmaking techniques for nearly forty years. Their watches combine the innovation and sophistication of contemporary Swiss engineering with the unrivaled craftsmanship of traditional watchmaking to produce an elegant and highly accurate timepiece. This article will take a closer look at Laurent Ferrier and some of their popular watch models.
The History of Laurent Ferrier
Laurent Ferrier was founded in 1980, following a lifetime of expertise and experience in the field of watchmaking. The company was born out of the passion of its founder, Laurent Ferrier, who is a renowned watch designer who has worked with numerous other watchmakers including Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Jaeger LeCoultre, to name a few. He and his wife, as well as their team of experts and artisans, have dedicated themselves to creating timepieces of superior quality and craftsmanship.
History has seen Laurent Ferrier go from strength to strength. After founding the company in 1980, Laurent Ferrier released its first modern watch; the Classic Reserve. It was followed by the luxury line Grand Bal in 1992 and the Internally-Regulated Caliber (or I.R.C) in 2003. The I.R.C. was particularly special because it was a self-regulating caliber, thus paving the way for the precision and accuracy that is associated with Laurent Ferrier today.
Laurent Ferrier continues to build their watches using the traditional methods that have been used for centuries. This includes using high grade materials like steel, gold and titanium as well as advanced techniques such as integrating complex levers and springs into the watch movements. The end result is a timepiece of remarkable precision and accuracy, which is designed to last a lifetime.

The excellence of Laurent Ferrier has been recognized time and again by the industry. Laurent Ferrier watches have won numerous awards including the “Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneva” five times in the last five years, as well as the “High Horology Watch Prize” in 2018.
