History of Romain Gauthier
Romain Gauthier was founded in 2005 in the Vallée de Joux, a picturesque valley in Switzerland that is frequently referred to as the “cradle of watchmaking”. The brand was named after its founder, Romain Gauthier, who was born into a long line of master watchmakers. After completing his horological studies at the famous watchmaking school in Geneva, he worked with some of the most esteemed brands including Audemars Piguet. In 2005, he decided it was time to make his own mark in the industry. His mission was to design timepieces that would respond to the needs of real watch enthusiasts, and his attention to detail has resulted in an impressive range of watches.
Quality Craftsmanship and Design
Romain Gauthier is renowned for the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into creating every timepiece. The company’s highly skilled artisans are passionate about their craft and use only the finest materials, resulting in watches that are not only striking in appearance, but also have superior accuracy and reliability.
One of the signature features of a Romain Gauthier watch is the use of traditional techniques such as hand engraving and guilloche. Each watch is carefully handcrafted and each part of the movement is carefully finished in-house. Every element from the case to the hands to the dial is chosen and assembled with the utmost care and precision.
Distinctive Features
The brand is also renowned for its distinctive design elements. Romain Gauthier is often credited with inventing the ‘Hallmark of Geneva’ an aesthetic feature that clearly identifies the company’s watches. This feature consists of four ‘G’s in a square, a symbol of the precise craftsmanship and quality for which Romain Gauthier is known.
Each timepiece in the Romain Gauthier collection displays a distinct personality and a unique elegance. From the classic to the contemporary, the watches are always timeless and beautiful.
